As some of you know, I moderate/lead a writing group at Passenger Recovery Community Center in Hamtramck, MI.
Participants start with a prompt of a living thing, an inanimate object, and a place both specific and general.
The prompts I got today were Koala, Snow, Philadelphia and Zoo.
This is the result of that, written in about an hour.
Continent Airlines Flight 262 skidded off the runway at Philadelphia International Airport in the middle of the wicked but relatively routine February blizzard. A flight attendant was seriously injured, which of course made the news, which of course meant Lucas’s mother would call from Bradenton, begging him to move down where it was warm.
Lucas knew she didn’t give a rat’s ass if he was warm, she wanted him to come down and do chores and mow the lawn, and trim…whatever.
