Losing his driver’s license for a year was brutal. But one phone call to his favorite cousin, Shawn, and at least Chuck had a ride to work.
The first day, the first ride, Chuck said, “You’re a lifesaver.”
Shawn shook him off. “It ain’t a hassle.”
Now, eight months later, Chuck was tired of Shawn driving like he was in NASCAR and drunk.
“You’re gonna get us killed.”
Shawn shrugged. “I don’t really care if I die.”
Chuck laughed awkwardly. “Don’t you care if I die?”
Shawn answered, “If I don’t care about myself, why would I care about you?”
