Freighters on the river blew horns at shit he couldn’t see and the only girl he wrote a poem for blew truckers for pills he couldn’t pronounce.
Dinner was at Grandma’s every night at six, always cereal, every night, but grandma picked the red fake berries out, because the TV news said they contained chemicals that might make you sick.

You haven’t lost it. You could almost read this as four stories of about 25 words each. Writing short is hard!

Flash fiction is like poetry – concentrated meaning - where every word. Maybe even every syllable. Has to be right…
