Lies

There was a big pothole right past the train tracks on 37th that we used to jump our bikes over.

Well, some guys jumped their bikes over it.

I could never make it, my rear wheel always hit the edge, if I even made it that far.

Sometimes I would fall, and guys would laugh at me.

Maybe I was nervous, because I wasn’t even supposed to be on that side of Northboro Highway.

Maybe I just suck at jumping bikes over stuff.

One night my older sister was in charge, because my mom…it don’t matter what my mom was doin’,but my older sister was in charge, so I rode up to the pothole in the dark to see if I could jump it with nobody looking.
