Jan picked up her phone, looked up the Chase County directory, immediately started dialing.
“Who are–” Emily started. Jan scowled and said “Parks and Rec because–”
Emily knocked the phone from her hand with a jelly donut.
“Dummy, you can’t talk to Parks and Rec.”
“Who else would you talk to about Dad’s remains being buried at Franklin Field?” Jan said, retrieving her phone.
“Nobody,” Emily said. “You talk to nobody. Because nobody is going to say yes. Saturday about three am we take Dad’s ashes and a fifth of Tullamore Dew out to the field and just do it.”

Thanks to at The Fiction Dealer for the prompt. Since I started at Substack, 100 Words has been my self imposed minimum so I can’t use most of the Fiction Dealer prompts, but this one was right on time.
Always a pleasure to have you joining in Jimmy! I’ll remember to do more 100mgs for you haha
This resonates for reasons I have sworn not to discuss…
