On the way to the door he stopped at the drinking fountain. A working one was so rare, and Curtis remembered the Wolkor Library fountain having really cold water.
He was not disappointed. He could hear himself gulping.
As he lifted his head, he saw a face, and the last of the cold water went down the wrong pipe.
The face was Amber Dussian.
