But they saw each other in front of Ressel’s, crowded, ladies night, patio had to be over fire code, if patios had a fire code.
Didn’t matter.
Cutto was paying attention to Opal now, she was giving the instructions. Opal had a training shift as a police dispatcher, that was ironic, and Cutto had volunteered, had second thoughts on the drive over, was having third and fourth thoughts now.
That first punch, they were squared up, Ziskey and Bone dancing, that point before the fight where half the crowd at Ressel’s didn’t know Bone and Ziskey were about to fight, the other half silent like church, watching the two guys dance and weave until Bone charged and Ziskey caught him with a left where Bone’s jaw met his ear.
