He was just shocked that Chop was the only member of the Fenkell Avenue Advancement Association in the room.
Kevin’s grandfather was a member of “the association” Kevin’s whole life.
As a younger, athletic kid, he knew it as a bunch of businessmen who supported athletic teams, cleaned up parks, positive shit.
There was a darker, more nefarious side, but overall the association had been a positive for a west side neighborhood that might as well have been an unlicensed pharmacy and poorly fenced gun range for three decades.
