It makes our hearts feel better though doesn’t it. When my husband was a teenager his dad kept throwing him out of the house (after he started fighting back).
I didn't name him. In the Keyboard Catharsis Writing Group I moderate we discussed the freedom to not name a character. He's aware of everyone else, but they're not always aware of him when it matters. So he didn't get named.
Great story! This kid’s got grit, and thank god for Tucker Maken and his deer stand. Ah, those teenage years when you’re immortal, ready to fight any authority figure, and you’re swamped with a pervasive feeling of being misunderstood by everyone.
Fantastic read Jimmy!
Thanks Jerry! I tossed an earlier one and I'm glad I did
I'm rereading it again, but this time out loud in a southern twang. Nice.
I should read it on video
Tucker was a good man. He recognized a lost boy, whose mother gave up too easily.
I watch how kind and supportive my girlfriend is of her teenage kids and I'm blown away. But that doesn't make great fiction.

Amazing as usual. Thank you.
Thanks Michael!
Whoo-eee!
That was a ride.
I hope it was on the handlebars
Loved the colorful characters, as usual. Just wondered what this kids name was? Rough around the edges but he’ll be fine.❤️

Thanks Liz! I'm stoked that you like it.
