I have barely touched the archive yet. I only read in my free time(which isn't much) , but everyday when I get an email alert I think time for a Doom break. Happy when I see a 10 min read or more.
That's the mystery, isn't it? There's a very subtle-- almost indeterminable-- reason I used that quirk for the character. If I bring him back in a different story, I will illuminate it somewhat.
Having grown up and lived mostly on the west coast, I've never experienced a "party" liquor store - not that I've ever had much to do liquor stores anyway.
I've only seen the New York bodegas on TV and have no experience with Detroit other than once to the airport.
I suppose living life in the big city is totally different.
Living on the Eastside we have a party store on every corner, lots of Deannes even an alligator man or two. Your works really connect with me.
Thanks Steve. I try to write authentically as possible. Super stoked you're liking them.

I have concepts for longer form stories, just not enough time to write them.
I agree, Steve. I always have time for the short ones. I am trying to catch up before I am dead, though.
Only 798 to go !
Good luck!
I still marvel that they’re NOT party stores everywhere.
We should grow it, like Detroit Pizza everywhere
"He borrowed it from the Peruvians or the Mexicans or somebody. Somebody with a Sun god. Whatever... " ha ha ha.
But I'm wondering if Alligator man's got hisself a system, why he ain't used it to buy him some strings?

Interesting story.

Jimmy, that story is Detroit AF... whether they liquor stores, party stores... whatever. Detroit AF, I’m telling you.
You know that makes me smile. The embryo of the idea came at the casino today. Playing Roulette, of course.
A very colorful neighborhood, loved all the characters
They're all fictional, but inspired by many citizens of Detroit. They would love you too.
I'm late to comment on this one, so I get to read a lot of other peoples' comments. Lots of fun! It really brought a reaction.
It's always gratifying when people like them and comment on them.
Nice one, Jimmy. The characters so real, I was there.
loved the first two lines
