“Taking a shot at dating a surgeon is considered a sign of intelligence and wisdom.” Is it bad that I thought this was a clever retort? I mean, I know the lady was being rude to Rhea, but that kind of quick witted response is impressive.

You never really know what it’s like to walk in another person shoes. All you can do is have compassion. This is a great story for illustrating this delicate human dance. Do we project on others? Do we push our agenda on others? Do we try to find the humor/truth in a situation when we have accidentally stepped in some Doohickey?

I feel that strongly. I almost always try to use humor to extricate myself. I told someone this week I'm also the first one to crack a joke at a funeral. When they work it's great. When they don't...ouch

Jimmy this is really good. Maybe it's a little thing, but I like how Rhea has a collection of stories about attempts to wipe her birthmark away. There's a lot woven in here. And you perfectly captured the tension with her would be matchmaker.
