Wow. This had me dying to know WTF she was drawing. Maybe one of your best "suspence" pieces. Brilliant. Then the ending.... lol. Just wow. Well done Jimmy.
i love the character development - there's so much depth in this simple scene. The tension between the two main characters and yes, has me also wondering what happens next. Lovely - thank you
Hiya - i've been reflecting on this. I think it's so intriguing whenever we are witnessed in surprising ways. The work the nurse/artist does turns out to be so meaningful and hard - I can relate to this in my own life - it's rare when we are seen for who we are and this is the beginning of this piece. So it makes me wonder what further can develop. She is clearly using the artwork to process the difficulties of her job - is the bartender just offering surface observation or is he willing to go deeper - i'd be curious what deeper looks like between them and if its even possible. or maybe being seen for that moment in that day is enough.
It's very possible to tell more here. My challenge, through the structure I've set up for Roulette Weal, would be to tell it as a completely standalone story in the same world rather than a continuation of the same story.

I'm always super nosy about art and books
Same here.
I wonder if she’ll draw something for Kevin.
That's certainly a friendship that could be revisited
So many beautiful unspoken elements. Enchanting to read.
Thanks. Made it free across the board because I felt good about it. Hope it can draw a few more moths to my rusty streetlight.

Where would you let them take you? Where do you think they go from here?
