Oh shit. I LOVE the okayesque word but can’t apply it here. The story was wonderful, hilarious but also utterly horrifying. Made me kinda ill. Been through far too many hornets-envountered-while-climbing ladders. Far worse was losing a dear friend, a ski mate, band member, book club partner who died after falling off a ladder. Worst Memorial Day ever.
If I can combine wonderful and horrifying I think I’m doing ok. I’m afraid of heights, so I avoid ladders and scissor lifts though to pay the bills I’ve been on both
One participant wrote the first short story of his life. He wrote it in English, which is the third language he has learned. He’s a native Arabic speaker.
Another person wrote a completely banging and believable Jane Goodall fan fiction that ended with a poetic and resonant flourish. We were all stunned.
Pischick the hero. Woohoo. Awesome tale, Mr. Doom.
Thanks. I love anthropomorphizing
That one hit primary target, twice.
Pischick the Conqueror!
Standing-O, Mr. Doom.
You would have really loved the Jane Goodall fan fiction one of the participants wrote
Jane Goodall is an interesting character, to say the least!
Pischick, the laid back, though ridiculed, keen observer, risked himself for the damsel. I like it. Another interesting tale.
We work off random prompts in the sessions. All I knew when I drew “ Hornet” is that I didn’t want him to be a villain
Omg I am LITERALLY crying I’m laughing so hard that the cat’s paying attention.
I needed this, J.
Pischick was awesome, but you’re a genius. xx.
I’m thrilled you love it and that I wrote a fun one at the right time. I’m thrilled you think I’m a genius. My bank account thinks I’m an idiot.
Banks! Pfttt
That said it seems impossible that would be so - even banks must accept reality sometimes
Took me 15 years to go from an idiot to a genius. Hope you do it more quickly.
Loved it
I’m glad. It was fun to write

Love it! Pischick is a hornet hero!
That was the goal when I drew the hornet card
Talk about Karma being a bitch.
:)
Bad Karma seems to exist. Not sure about good Karma
That was amazing.
Thanks. I swear to you it was at best the third best thing of 8 written in our writing group that day
I mean… You made a chill hornet the hero of a somehow comical assault case. Who topped that?

Sounds fun!
First adult short story I've read featuring a bug. Wonderful name. Pischick.
