You are the second person in twelve hours to ask. First person demanded I see it.

I hate em. Sounded horizontal too, like it was at someone and not some weird celebratory thing.

Thanks for the gut check.

I can't pretend to understand your situation, but I, too, have observed the current trend of less and less respect for human life; in other words, by those who have embraced evil and destroy everything they disrespect. Unfortunately, this cycle has repeated too many times over the course of history.

The only answer is to be a light in the darkness and continue to tell stories of what you live in and hope for a better future. That may seem a trite answer but words have a powerful impact and the written word lives forever.

In your area, sounds like life is becoming more like a war with the bad guys winning.

This movie has played countless times over the years.

Dystopia never lasts.

Keep up hope, my friend.

No one my age who grew up in Detroit loses hope over gunshots. They are far less common than they used to be. It was just a reminder. There is a Ford truck holding area close to my house. Thousands of them in a fenced lot. Might have been a security guard firing on a thief. A few years ago someone smashed the gate and got away with 3 or 4.

You ARE Detroit! You represent all the things I love about being a Detroiter. Thanks for being such an amazing ambassador of this place we call home. For what it’s worth, I truly admire you, your work and look forward to reading you everyday!

Gunshots at my band house in Brightmoor was why your sister demanded I move in with her and Porter in Ferndale.

I’m sorry you’ve been through all of this. I’ve never been shot at, but I think I can relate to you to a degree. I live in a bad area as well. It’s not as bad as it used to be before I moved here, but it’s still not great. I don’t think I can walk 5 minutes in any direction from my home without being close to a place where someone was murdered. I’m also stuck living with someone I’ve had to call the police on a few times.

Someday, I hope to live in a nice town. I hope that for you too.

I wouldn't trade my life for much different. A few more dollars would be nice.

And the interesting thing is I live in what's considered a decent neighborhood.

I have a beautiful park across the street with free films and activities. It ain't deep hoodrat craziness. I've lived there too, both in Detroit and NOLA.

Good luck with your living arrangement. I hate the idea that someone's home isn't safe.I know that environment too well. Still wouldn't trade. The experiences made me a better actor. That doesn't mean I want it for you or anyone else.

Thank you. And living rough does add to your character, that’s for sure. At the very least it gives you interesting stories to tell.
