“Elvis has left the building”. I wondered where you would take the story, Jimmy. A modern morality tale!

Such a clear sense of time and place. Minimalist world building - nothing here that wasn't needed and everything that was. Loved it.

When I write fantasy I try to do immersive world building but I keep it light when it’s real life.

McNeeson Spindle where pianos go to die. Sounds like some of the knuckleheads I knew growing up.

This piece feels so real you could almost swear you lived it. The details, the mix of dark humour and quiet heartbreak—it all comes across with such raw authenticity that it’s hard to believe it’s fiction. You have a way of making the reader feel like they’re right there in the room, staring at that John Wayne picture, figuring out what comes next. Nice work, Jimmy!

Authenticity is always my number 1 objective. Thank you Kye. Personal experience does come into play in many of the stories, but never verbatim snapshots of my own life.

I’m glad you’re here. There are some very intelligent and insightful readers who have been with me for years and I cannot bring myself to mail one in. They’re not all Pulitzer winners but I’d like to believe they all make readers or help readers think about something, even if it’s an ancillary topic within the story.

I swear to God I thought this was a memoir. Wonderfully evocative, pulpy and punchy in all the right ways. Love it!

Thanks! Ithink the acting life ( though dreadfully slow now) really helps the writer me feel the characters more strongly
