I like how you work in so much background with little, gritty details like what teams the guys follow and argue about and the old buildings that have been three or more different businesses over the years, just morphing into one thing after another with each passing era. You also get right to things and never waste time. It's gritty and edgy and a hell of a lot of fun. Awesome work, Jimmy.
Wow.
Death certainly brings out unexpected stories.
Great piece!
Thanks J/S
Like it or not good comes from everything- maybe the tragic in particular. A memory, a sense of discovery, even a scrap of paper..
Nothing is wasted, like it or not. Something will remain and go on..
I definitely hope things go on
I have to believe it.
Really nice.
Thanks. I’d love to get in a good groove again
And we’d love to have you get in a groove—you’re a genuine pleasure to read.
Reminds me of my cousin in Detroit. Lost everything in a fire. But poked through the ashes and found his dad’s wedding ring.
Good to read you again. Had to take a break from screens.
I take some screen breaks. Trying to walk in nature more
That’s really all I want to do any more.

"Sootch Kramer was giving Rick Arroyo CPR like he was in a fucking CPR contest."
"I saw Rick Arroyo fix a picture frame once."
How can I not read beyond these first two lines?
Crazy good, Jimmy.
I tell people all the time: Open strong. Took me a while to get what I wanted out of that story, but I knew I opened strong. Thanks Jim!
