To me, your subtitles are an integral part of the story.
Can't tell you how many times I'm reading away when I suddenly stop, scroll to the top and re-familiarize myself with the title and sub-title to keep on focus where you are going. I never have been disappointed in all the hundreds of your stories which I've read being impressed that they all HAVE sub-titles! To me, it's just like you are getting a last twist or clever something into the story.
Your fanatical commitment to every detail, even if you don't like it, is appreciated.
I know a movie producer who still can't bring himself to release a full production even though it has been complete for over ten years. Definitely does not endear him to his actors and crew!
This is really great. My heart was fluttering the entire time. I’m not sure what I was waiting for. I claim I detest cheap sentiment, but I’ll bet I wouldn’t have been disappointed about a romantic reunion. I also wondered if the ice cream store in lieu of being hired at the record store had a ring of autobiography?
PS: substitute Winkelman’s for the ice cream store and Mack Ave. for the mall for my bio.
Wow! This one really got to me. Every time one goes to a class reunion, there they are listed...RIP classmates. Realizing how lucky to be attending the reunion. The first ones are always a shock. We are never ready to accept this reality.
Forever temporary.
Just like all good things...
Great story!
I love that you even notice the subtitle. That makes me inordinately happy. Thanks J/S

I really try to work at every element of the story. Sometimes I've been exhausted and not in love with an image I've selected, but even that is rare.
Your fanatical commitment to every detail, even if you don't like it, is appreciated.

Pobody's nerfect. Kudos.
Oh man, this is so real. Do I really want to know? Or should I just keep them alive in my past?
This is so good Jimmy. The mall as the timekeeper for generations.
It was unimaginable to me when some of the malls became ghost towns.
Jim, if you really like it and want to share it I'll rip the paywall off it. I'd love for more eyes to see the story.
Yeah, please do that so I can share it today. It's a good one to showcase.
Took down the paywall. Go ahead and share it
Done. Posted to notes and on my Substack. Thanks Jimmy.

Thanks. I'm working on keeping them tense
Wow. That’s a good story. Demolition dreams.
Thanks. More so than usual I really tried to take the reader's ride on this one.

My graduating class was 104. I think over 90 are still with us.
